MICHIGAN VIRTUAL

SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR

August 2016 - Current

At Michigan Virtual, I teach 100% online flexible paced high school courses. Any given semester, I teach a variety of Biology, Chemistry, science electives, Advanced Placement, and credit recovery courses. My students range from 9th-12th grade. I provide a personalized education for each student by creating positive relationships and individualized support.

WALLED LAKE WESTERN HS

INTERN TEACHER

September 2015- April 2016

I completed my internship year as a part of my education at MSU in order to get vital classroom experience to earn my teacher certification. I was placed in 9th grade biology courses. During my time at WLWHS, I planned and carried out lessons anchored in puzzling phenomena, following the Ambitious Science Teacher framework.  

MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY CAREER SERVICES

CAREER PEER

The Center for Spartan Engineering specializes in assisting engineering students gain internships and post graduation jobs. In the office I would critique resumes, work with employers who would come visit MSU, and eventually started a satellite branch of Career Services to serve the students in the Lyman Briggs residential college.

September 2012 - May 2015

LYMAN BRIGGS BIOLOGY LABORATORY 

UNDERGRADUATE LEARNING ASSISTANT

I worked closely with the Biology professors, the team of undergraduate learning assistants would run the biology lab portion of the course. We would plan, prepare, and lead the Biology labs. This includes assisting students on how to use laboratory equipment, how to carry out investigations, and help generally with the Biology content.
